For Recipients: Sharing Credentials

Recipients can share their certificates and badges directly to their LinkedIn profile:

  1. View your certificate or badge
  2. Click the "Share to LinkedIn" button
  3. You'll be redirected to LinkedIn to authorize (first time only)
  4. Customize your post message
  5. Click "Post" to share

Add to LinkedIn Profile

Badges can also be added directly to LinkedIn's Licenses & Certifications section, providing permanent visibility on your professional profile.

For Organizations: Setup

LinkedIn sharing works out of the box. For enhanced features, you can connect your organization's LinkedIn page:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Find the LinkedIn section
  3. Click "Connect LinkedIn"
  4. Authorize the webMOBI app
  5. Select the LinkedIn page to connect (if you manage multiple)

LinkedIn Permissions Required

  • r_emailaddress - Read email address
  • r_liteprofile - Read basic profile
  • w_member_social - Post on behalf of user

Facebook Integration

Sharing to Facebook

Recipients can share their achievements to Facebook with a single click:

  1. View your certificate or badge
  2. Click the "Share to Facebook" button
  3. A sharing dialog will open
  4. Add a personal message (optional)
  5. Choose your audience and click "Post"

Facebook sharing uses their native Share Dialog and doesn't require connecting your account. The shared post will include a preview of your certificate or badge.

Open Badge Standard

Our digital badges comply with the Open Badges 2.0 standard, making them portable across platforms. Recipients can:

  • Export badges in Open Badge format
  • Import badges to backpack services like Badgr, Credly
  • Verify badges via embedded metadata

Sharing Best Practices

For Organizations

  • Encourage recipients to share with a suggested hashtag
  • Include sharing prompts in certificate email notifications
  • Design visually appealing badges that look great when shared

For Recipients

  • Add context about what you learned or achieved
  • Tag the issuing organization for more visibility
  • Use relevant industry hashtags

Troubleshooting

LinkedIn connection failed

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your LinkedIn account. Ensure pop-ups are allowed for the authorization window.

Share button not appearing

Social sharing must be enabled by your organization. Contact the certificate issuer if sharing options aren't visible.

Preview image not showing

Social platforms cache preview images. If you've recently updated your certificate, use LinkedIn's Post Inspector or Facebook's Sharing Debugger to refresh the cache.
